Introduction
Many of the history stories I have researched and told over the last decade have included some part of Presqu'ile Point history. Most obvious is the story of HMS Speedy which dealt with the creation of the town of Newcastle, as well as its demise. In addition, many family trees I have researched touch on Presqu'ile in one way or another. Of course, the renovation of the lighthouse in recent years led to another collection of information on Presqu'ile.
With all of this information sitting in far flung folders in my computer, I felt recently that it was time to assemble the material together in a sequential format, to tell the history of Presqu'ile Point from early settlement to today.
