Ag Day at Codrington Farms' Market - August 17, 2025 - Codrington Market
Codrington Farmers' Market will host "AG Day" on August 17, 2025 to celebrate agriculture in our area. There will be many displays and demonstrations by local farmers and farm product vendors, with something for everyone. The History Guy of Brighton will be at the Hop Barn with a display called "A Brief History of Farming and will make two presentations of "Hop Talk", one at 11:30 am and one at 1:30 pm. This talk is only 20 minutes and will discuss the hop boom in the 1870s and 1880s, in particular our own hop barn recently moved to Codrington Market. The Brighton Digital Archives will also have a display of amazing picture about farming. Come by and see lots of vendors related to agricultural as well as the routine vendors. Hope to see you there.

Presqu'ile Book Talk #2 - October 7, 2025 - Brighton Public Library
The History Guy of Brighton will present the second part of his presentation about Susan Brose's book "What Became of the Land". Following on Part 1 on February 27, 2025, this second part will address cottages along the north shore of Presqu'ile Point, all the way to the lighthouse. The author, Susan Brose, will be in attendance to answer questions. Anyone who had a cottage or visited a cottage at Presqu'ile will be interested in this talk, so tell your family and friends. Everyone is welcome to come to the library and learn some local history. Arrive early to get a good seat as these events are usually well attended. See you there!
