The Food Service Pledge

The Tobey Book includes material up to about 1939, so the later section has a good deal about The Great War. One newspaper clipping, on page 681, stood out for me. It shows a very dramatic depiction of good vs. evil, which was a common approach to motivating people to get involved in the war effort.

But, if you read the small print here, it is a bit surprising what they are actually promoting. ​

Kind of reminds me of current health officials pleading with people to comply with recommendations for dealing with Covid-19. Just a different time and a different crisis. 
This is one more example - you never know what you will see in The Tobey Book.
