Word on the Street in Toronto was a great experience and Applefest gave me lots of local love (as well as sales!). Speaking events are booked into the winter and more to come. By now many folks have read the book and I am hearing lots of positive feedback, along with interesting questions. I even have a few corrections to make if we print again. Every email and discussion leaves me with more good information about our history so I encourage everyone to let me know what you think.
Along with all the book stuff, there are other history activities to address as well as on-going genealogy questions. Never a dull moment!
Hope to see you at an event. See my Events Calendar for options. Thanks!

<![CDATA[Selling Books, talking books....]]>Wed, 25 Jul 2018 01:31:24 GMThttp://danbuchananhistoryguy.com/history-guy-blog/selling-books-talking-booksThe new book has been out there for a few weeks and sales are moving along well. I've attended several book talk events, author visits, having lots of fun talking to folks about the story. Now book stores are asking for more books. Not a bad problem to have!
My Events Calendar on this web site is the place to see where I will be over the next months. Drop me an email if you are interested in having me participate in some kind of event. I'm open for pretty much anything.

<![CDATA[Book is OUT THERE!]]>Wed, 04 Jul 2018 13:28:28 GMThttp://danbuchananhistoryguy.com/history-guy-blog/book-is-out-thereIt feels so great to finally have 38 Hours To Montreal out there in the public sphere so people can enjoy it. Launch went well on Saturday, June 30 at Lighthouse Books in Brighton and then Let's Talk Books in Cobourg. It was a busy day around both towns and I'm grateful to the folks who took time to drop by and get a book.
The Farmers' Market at Codrington on Sunday, July 1 was hot, hot, hot, but my tent was located just right to enjoy occasional cooler breezes from the trees behind the Community Centre. Folks came by to talk, buy the book and generally provide their support. All-in-all, it was a great Canada Day weekend!

<![CDATA[History Guy Blog Begins!]]>Tue, 01 May 2018 20:10:37 GMThttp://danbuchananhistoryguy.com/history-guy-blog/history-guy-blog-beginsWelcome to the History Guy Blog! A blog is the next obvious step for The History Guy. My web site www.danbuchananhistoryguy.com has undergone a major renovation recently and is now presented on the Weebly platform which includes easy features for creating a blog. I am modernizing my tools and methods to take The History Guy to the next level.
These developments are in the context of my second book 38 Hours To Montreal launching in June 2018 and all of this means that I want to connect much more with readers and other history buffs. I'll be posting bits of history as often as I can with the hope of generating some feedback in the form of comments or corrections. It's always great to learn from our conversations.
So, let's give this blog thing a try! Should be fun and informative. Feel free to leave a comment.
